let's talk Glocks

I don't suggest anyone bank on .45GAP sticking around. The round is already hard to come back, no one makes a pistol for it besides Glock and XD. Personally I think it could be a good round if the .45 ACP would step aside, but don't see that happening.

let's talk about Glocks for some entertainment. am i the only one who thinks that Glock should make a mid-sized Glock in .45 ACP

I've always thought that a Glock 19 sized gun in .45 was missing from their selection. The Glock 30 is about the same size with a grip extension, but that just doesn't have the same feel as a gun with an actual full grip.

They also need to get into the .22LR and slim 9mm business IMO.

.45 GAP is sort of a good idea, but they didn't realize that most people that use .45 ACP use it because it is .45 ACP with all the nostalgia and what not attached to it. I personally don't think that .45acp Glocks are all that difficult to get a grip on so I was never interested in GAP.

I have owned and been shooting Glocks for the last 15 years and have carried the G19 as my Duty Weapon and the G26 as my EDC but then I bought a G36 and WOW, what a great gun! I stayed away from this gun for 15 years because of the G30 and other .45's but now it is my main EDC and I can't see this ever changing. I spent a few bucks and got the grip reduction with the finger grooves removed along with the stippling and this gun fits my hand better than any gun I have ever owned. It is basically the same size as the G19, so what more do you want?

Is there something in post #15 that you are not seeing? The two are virtually the same size but the G36 is slimmer making it ideal for concealed carry.

Single stack is the clue here. If capacity is really an issue nobody would touch 5-shot snub revolvers. I happily carry both.

My point is that I would prefer a Glock with the full size grip rather than shortened with an extension.

^Very true. Anyone else ever called them? Sounds like you're talking to a mash up of C3PO and an answering machine. And that's their staff. :D :D :D

.40S&W did a good job of bridging the gap between 9mm and .45. .357SIG fit between .40 and .45, and .400 Cor-Bon never really took off, so I guess they thought there was a gap between .40 and .45 that needed filled, hence the name, .45GAP! HA! And y'all though it stood for Glock Automatic Pistol...

These are the ramblings of a tired man, and are not to be taken seriously.

Amen to the G30 praise. A little polishing here and there... Pierce mag extensions to solve the pinky pinch problem, and a plug for the hole in the bottom of the grip, now it fits like a glove and shoots like a dream. I'll never sell it.

I had a great experience with Glock customer service. I called and talked to someone right away on a few different occasions. Each time I only waited a few moments before speaking to the right person about my questions. For one problem I had they sent me a new part free of charge.
I would have to give their customer service 5 stars!

A couple of us have hashed this out before. Never could get anyone here to comprehend that we were talking about a gun that would lie between the G30 and G21 in the .45acp line. (Like the G19 lies between the G26 and G17 in the 9mm line) I think it would be a great gun. I would use a G38 GAP if you gave me one and a couple thousand empty brass cases for free. Otherwise I've got no real interest.

Once fired brass for the GAP is CHEAP!! don't let that deter you.

Glock 30. Carry .45's don't get any better than this and none equally it, really.

Relatively compact, though thick. Very accurate. Utterly reliable. VERY soft shooting. 11-round capacity before a reload. What else offers that? Nothing.

I'm a big Glock fan and usually carry a G19. I've got G17, G23's, G19's, G26, G29, G21SF. But even with all of that, the G30 is one handgun I would never want to be without. If you like .45 (and who doesn't, really?) the G30 offers an ideal total package of potency, capacity, reliability, accuracy, and soft shooting.

Two of my favorite Glocks

But for carry...

Got a Glock 30 in trade about 8 months ago and with my job and life in general
JUST went to go shoot it last weekend.

And now I wonder why in the hell I ever really bashed Glocks. I was worried that there would be alot of muzzle flip. NOPE. going to be uncontrollable. NOPE.

This pistol now sits next to my 1911 and 92 FS. And will do so for evah.

Think I also convinced my friend to get one too as he went shooting with me as well. :) lol
