I am looking for feedback on the Illuminated Leupold M1 3.5-10X scope, with illum mildot reticle.

Does the illumination work well? Is it distracting? Durable?

thanks
Zak

Zak,Ive had one for about a year now.Its not bad and I havent had any problems with it but my only complaint is just the center dot is illuminated. If I were to do it over again I would look into another scope maybe the NXS line I believe their scopes have a full illuminated reticle.

Thanks for the info, warrior23.

I have heard from some sources that the Leu M1/M3 Illuminated scopes will be tweaked this year into new designs.

I'm looking at a scope for a "match" AR-10, and the choice is probably an 3.5-10X Illum. M1, or the 4.5-14X50mm (both mildot).

The Leupy is like half the size of the NSX, which may be a consideration. I opted for the Leupold on my LTR, and I've been very happy. Yes, only the center is illuminated, but do you really need anything else? I have a 5.5-22x56 NSX on a PSS, and it's quite a piece of equipment. It's got the R2 reticle and the illumination is indeed a masterpiece. For those that don't know, the reticle is actually laser etched into a lens, and the etching reflects the illumination.

I bought a BSA Illumnated Cat Eye for hunting. In the evening the light is WAY too bright even on its lowest setting. I've never replaced the battery.
