Hey guys, I'm getting into longer range shooting and by longer I mean 400-500 yards. I have a rifle set up for longer but I figured I would learn the basics with a 556 so I wouldn't break the bank with my 300, but Im getting off topic here. I picked up a leupold mark ar 3x9x40 and it is suiting me fine for that distance. It is set up for the 55 grain bullet with the bdc and everything. I get a RRA lar-8 through at trade and I was wanting to try it out. My question is, Will the Mark Ar withstand the recoil of the 308. I know the BDC will be unusable but I would like to just test the accuracy of the Lar8 before I sunk the money into another scope. I know that was alot for a simple question, but I just wanted you guys to know why I was asking.

Thanks Gents.

Thanks W.E.G, I read that it was pretty much the same internals as a Vx1 but didnt know how true it was.

I have a pair of Mark AR scopes; a 1-4X mounted on a Deluxe Mini-14 and a 3-9X on my Armalite AR.

Both are serving well with no problems at all.

I must like Leupolds, since there are a dozen of them in my racks at last count. Some are old enough to vote!
