I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, but I couldn't find a place to post this.

Anyway, Cabela's has the Leupold RX1000 with TBR on sale for $299. The first one I bought was $450, so this is a great deal on an excellent range finder.

We used that model, and a couple other non Leupold models this last deer season, and the Leupold is very reliable and honestly ranges out to 1000 yds., the other's we have are very sporadic, and not so reliable. It also has an adjustable focus, 6x optic, angle compensation, continuous ranging, last target, and a bunch of other great and useful features.

Glad you had better luck with yours than I did with mine. I had a 750 tbr, 500 was a good poke for that thing. Bought a used leica 900 for $300 and it does 1000;)

I bought an early Bushnell 800. It's 836 yards from my porch to a friend's house--verified on topo map. :) "Rough-in" surveying on a 40-acre square, it was within a half-yard from the high-dollar surveyor's transit at 440 yards.

That sounds like a heck of a buy.

I paid $200 for a 600 Redfield, but that was a week before rifle season when they were real high.

This Redfield will go out to a little over 700. It's better than I expected and a lot better than a Nikon 600 I used to have that must of thought it was a 450.

It has a lot of good reviews . I guess like most things electronic , they are made in China . That's one thing I don't like about it .

I haven't been very impressed with the lower grade Leupold's though.

But I hear you on that Bushnell Art. In our inventory, we have an old Bushnell, might even be that 800? Anyway, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the Leupold, but it's amazingly reliable and accurate, go figure.

Wanker Jake, I had an opportunity to use a Leica, don't remember which model, but it was indeed a quality RF, no doubt top shelf quality.

My RX1000's all range the full 1000+ yards., accurately and reliably also.

I saw that Leupold now has an RX1200, identical to the RX1000 feature for feature. Wish I would have noticed it before buying the last RX1000, I would have upgraded to it, just because.

BTW, when the RX1000 came into production, I had just sent my RX-IV in for service, as it had just quit working. Without even a ph call or e-mail, I received the RX1000 10 days later, no cost what so ever. outside of the great quality of Leupold products, I have had nothing but the very best of service from them, which makes it more than difficult to do business with other optic manufacturer's.
Anyway I just wanted to let those interested know that the RX1000 is on sale for $299 at Cabela's, which is at least $100 less than what I have seen them for.
