I need help deciding on one of these 3 scopes to go on my 18 inch 6.5 Grendel I’m building. Looking for any input from members that own or have experience with any of these models. Thank you in advance.

The only one I have experience with is the Burris, which I have the obsolete E1 glass, but duplex reticle. The E1 reticle, which I have no first-hand experience with, is said to be too fine to easily pick up. But, the duplex in my E1, which sits on my Remington 700 .30/06, makes it easy to see steel at 400, which is more than I could say for the FullField2. Overall, I am VERY happy with the clarity of the E1 for the price. Hopefully others will chime in with their opinions of the other 2.

I've got a fullfield ii 2-7x35 so not sure if that counts and a vx-freedom 3-9x40. What features are important to you? The ffii seems like it is quite robust. I believe it is a single piece tube as opposed to two piece of the Vx. Eye relief is decently better on the Leupold. Not that the ffii is bad however. Resolution and low light ability were about the same to my eyes. If you need a bit extra eye relief get the Leupold. If eye relief isn't as big of a deal, the Burris is a better bang for your buck given it can be regularly had for under $150 whereas the Leupold vx seems to go for >$180. Both solid scopes for the money. But given that this is going on an AR which you can mount a scope as far back as you want due to the picatinny rail, I'd get whichever you find a better deal on since eye relief shouldnt be a concern given the caliber and mounting system. Have heard good things about the Sig but haven't gotten behind one.

It’s mainly going to be a deer hunting rifle with shots less than 150 yards, but might occasionally be taken to the range and shot at 400 at some steel targets. I’m just looking for which one is the clearest and is the better built. One feature I was looking for on it is the number indicators on the turrets so you can see if they have been bumped from where they were zeroed.

Ahh, mine have caps over the adjustment dials. The zero is set via moving a c-clip under the dial so that the gap in the c-clip is right below the 0 in the dial. Then the cap goes back on. I'm a set it and forget it shooter so I don't touch it after that.

I can't like the E1 Reticle. I do like the Burris FF-II and think it is a much better scope. I'd not feel the least bit handicapped hunting with that scope. I understand it has been replaced with a newer version which I have no experience with. But the FF-II's are still out there and at good prices.

The Sig is a decent scope, but I passed on it over the VX-Freedom for a couple of reasons. The biggest negative to the Sig is the tunnel vision effect when looking through it. It's like looking through a cardboard tube with a large black ring around the edge. The Leupold FOV went right to the edge of the scope with only a thin black line. Other than that they looked similar in the store, but outside especially in low light Leupold is a proven winner. I just don't know about the Sig.

The VX-Freedom basically replaced the discontinued VX-2. I've used those for years with good luck and the two VX-Freedom's I have are as good or better.

I just bought the VX Freedom a couple weeks ago. Haven’t shot with it yet but it is mounted. Nice and clear, good eye relief. Standard duplex reticle will be fine for hunting.

I also prefer the Fullfield II to the E1. If the Freedom has VX-2 glass as been reported, I believe it to be slightly better than the Fullfield in good light with the gap narrowed to nothing in low light. I’ve never seen a Sig scope.

Ive got a vx-f 2-7x33, and had a Fullfield e1 4.5-14x42. The only sig ive spent enough time behind to have an opinion on is the BDX, and its got enough features, i think they deduct from cost by reducing glass quality.

I was very happy with my ff e1, and im mostly happy with the vx-f. Both have covered turrets, and track properly. Neither has great turret feel, and id not choose them for spinning up elevation.
personally id go with which ever one is cheaper on that particular day, i really dont thin either has a real edge in optical quality.

Ive also owned 2 ff2s, and while i cant honestly say i prefer them to the leupy, or ff e1, they are about 100-120 bucks used on ebay and are AT LEAST as good as the others optically. The turrets can be kinda annoying, but again dailling isnt what these things are designed for.
