Leupold VX-R problems

I purchased a Leupold VX-R in early October and discovered that it eats batteries. A new battery would last about 15 to 20 minutes before it was completely drained. I sent it back to Leupold 3 times before they finally admitted that it was, indeed, defective. I am still waiting for a replacement.

Does anyone here know of this battery drain issue with these scopes?

I did not make explicit that this was the Ballistic Fire Dot reticle - illuminated reticle thus the need for the battery. The scope is fine otherwise.

Have not had that issue with mine....it is a Fire Dot in a VXR scout scope built by Leupold.

My 2-7 VXR still has the same batteries after 8 months of some use.
