Lever action rifles in pistol cartridges are great

The Williams is a fine receiver peep sight... I have them on all my leverguns...

The only pistol cartridge lever-gun I have left is my 1894FG in .41 Magnum (rifle in center, photo above.) It has a permanent spot in the safe, I'll never sell it.

Don't discount the slower powders in the longer rifle-length barrels... I was a big Unique guy in the .41... until I discovered IMR4227.

I shoot my 1889 Model '73 Winchester .38-40 with light loads of Trail Boss, surprisingly accurate considering how bad the bore looks.

My Rossi 92 in .357 is wonderful to shoot and very accurate.

I love them! Nothing is more fun than plinking away at targets with these things. My small-scale metal silhouettes really get a workout when the .45 Colt or .357 Rossi is in hand! There's just something about toppling a buffalo, bear or cowboy silhouette with a lever gun that makes it just right...

And finally a Henry Youth Lever and a S&W 17 in .22 LR

(Sorry about the blah backgrounds, they're worn-out towels that the wife won't care if oil/grease gets on them so I lay them on the floor for these pics.)

Stay safe!

Nice, Riomouse. Next week I'll pick up my Uberti 1866 Short Rifle/45 Colt. Its revolver partner - still undecided - probably won't come along for a while. I asked a question about Uberti vs. Ruger revolvers in the Revolver forum, should go see if anyone responded. Currently I can't decide between the case-hardened beauty of an Uberti, or the stainless steel beauty of a Ruger (yes, I am shallow when it comes to these particular toys, and cosmetics matter - or maybe they do, we'll see).

Both nice guns. Ruger strong & 6-shot safe. Uberti is more accurate replica of Colt hence not as strong and 5-shot only. In price I think they are about same?

Sad to say I only own one PISTOL cartridge lever gun. It is a Uberti 1873 in 45 Colt.

But my FAVORITE lever gun is my Uberti 1873 carbine in 32-20. Since the 32-20 was first introduced as a rifle cartridge it falls into the combination gun category.

My other lever guns do not qualify.

Browning 92 in 44 mag. It's a sweet, slick, fast rifle. I keep it in the corner with 10 - 265 grain Hornaday hot loads for spring black bear vandals. I've got others, but, the Browning is just sweet. I'm looking for a Browning 92 in 357 mag, saving my money for one.

The only other lever I'd prefer over the Browning 92 is a Rossi in 480. Buddy has one and I can't seam to pry it out of his hands. He has promised I get first crack at it if he puts it up for sale.
Don't want a 454 because of how hot they run. 60,000 PSI, not me.
