Hey, Happy Thanksgiving all...

I been looking at purchasing a lever gun. Something I could shoot my reloaded 38 sp through. I load 3.5g of Tite group with 125 lfp bullet. Will these work in a rifle? Does the longer barrel require diff loads? I'm just a weekend warriar at my local club. Shoot targets at 50 yards and sometimes out to 100. Thanks for your help....Marty

That load should work fine in a rifle.

I like to see 1,000 FPS to preclude any possibility of a stuck bullet.

Your 3.5 grain load probably won't get that, but it should be pretty close to it.

I'd just try it, and be aware of the possibility of stuck bullets until proven otherwise.

Love my Marlin 1894c and the ability to shoot .38 special and .357 magnums. I have introduced several .22 rim fire shooters to center fire rifle with a .38 load. in that rifle. A lot of fun to shoot. You may need to adjust your load to get the desired accuracy. JHP's and slightly more Tite Group improved the accuracy in my rifle.

Be careful with REALLY light special loads in a rifle. You may not have an issue but it pays to be really alert and make sure each trigger pull results in a bullet making it downrange.

Also be aware that really light loads tend to print extremely high compared to full powered magnums. Sighted in for 158g magnum handloads my 1894 and rolling block will put bullets over 2' high in some cases clearing the target board

Your 125 grain pill will do fine.

I shoot lead 105s and 125s from 22" 1873 lever gun with 3.2 gr of American Select. Slower powder than TiteGroup.

The 105s chrono 795fps from a Ruger 3 screw 4 3/4" Blackhawk and an estimated 900fps from the rifle. The 125s should do a hair better.

I have never had a squib/stuck bullet with this load.
