I was looking through the latest issue of Shotgun News and came across Lew Horton Distributing Co.'s ad. I notice that they claim to have some Finnish M39 rifles in like new condition in stock. They claim that these are the "last of the best". Since I have been looking to purchase a M39 for a few months now, the ad caught my eye. If I am not mistaken, about the only wholesaler that has had any M39's in stock recently has been SOG and they are listed in very good condition and range in price from about $280 to $330. The ad for Lew Horton says that they only sell to FFL01 dealers, not FFL03 (Curio & Relic) dealers like myself. First, I was wondering if anyone has purchased one of these "like new rifles" from Lew Horton recently and second, what are their prices for one of these rifles? I actually have a friend with a FFL01 that I could order one of the rifles from Lew Horton through, but was trying to see if the rifles are actually "like new" and worth the trouble.

i personally wouldn't buy anything from them simply because they refuse to sell rifles that are clearly c&r eligible to people who are c&r licensed. i kbnow a few people who had their dealers order a couple of their mausers about a year ago & were very dissapointed & had them sent back
southern ohio gun still has finns & they like us c&r folks

I got mine (4 so far) from http://www.gunsnammo.com as well. At my time of purchase the prices were fair and the descriptions were accurate.

3 are antiques on pre-1899 recievers and one is not. Accurate and historical w/ reasonable prices.
