Hi all:

I'm going to the next Kenny Woods show in Lexington the weekend of the 19th and 20th. Just putting this out there to see if anyone else will be going this weekend. It's my first gun show since June, I'm going to see if some of the panic, especially with regards to ammo, has subsided, if at least a bit.

For anyone who hasn't been there before:

You can get a $1 off coupon here: http://www.gunshows-usa.com/kentucky.htm

It's at the bottom level of the Lexington Center, next to the Rupp Arena downtown. I'm most likely going to be there on Sunday morning and perhaps into the early afternoon.

If anyone else is going/would like an update on the general gun and ammo prices, let me know.

I go the first morning a few times per year. No deals from the vendors usually, ( Heritage hall costs so much to use they have to mark guns up to have a show there) but some good deals can be had through private sale. I mostly go to people watch....it draws out some real beauties.

I might try to make the first show on october in Somerset, thats a bit closer for me and I cant get off work with just a weeks notice. Been wanting to go to a show for a while. I missed all the ones this summer.

I plan on being there Sunday morning.... working Saturday. Not many bargans from dealers usually, but ya never know what ya might find.

It was pretty empty today, it is game day in town, maybe tomorrow some of the vendors will be desperate to re-coop their entrance fee and be marking stuff down to sell.

I did see one guy from a local shop stocking up on handgun ammo, the show is the only place to get it in the area right now.

I showed up early - for some reason power was out to half of the building. It came on after a short while, though.

I scored a decent price on a Mauser but wasn't able to find any ammo. The prices are simply ridiculous. I refuse to pay $9 for a box of 20 Romanian surplus 8x57. Now I've got an expensive club until I can find some decent prices on ammo.

I did notice more ammunition available this weekend, and more reloading supplies.
