I just returned from the LFI II level class with Mas Ayoob and Marty Hays at the Firearms Academy of Seattle. I'm sore, this is a very physical class that lasts 5 days 10-12 hours a day. (14 on WED with handcuff training).
It is 1/4 classroom covering the theory of everything taught and much advanced CQB room clearing and proper flashlight technique. 1/4the handgun drills done a double speed from LFI I, 1/4 Tactical Shotgun, and 1/4the live gun retention and disarming.
I'm going to add pics as I get them unloaded from my camera.

This is Mas reviewing loading technique before we head to the range.

Here is the rapid fire shotgun technique that Mas recommends we teach a neophyte who needs to learn to use a shotgun quickly. He used as an example the lady I taught to use a shotgun when her husband was in Iraq and a ped was harassing one of her children. I was excited that I had taught the technique fairly well.

Add a Scotsman to a class and you have the full level of testosterone needed for the high level of competition needed for advanced learning under stress.

Marty Hays using my SPX to teach a drill. This shotgun came out the box and functioned flawlessly through 5 days of shooting slugs.

At least twice a year. The Firearms Academy of Seattly has a website that will give the dates.

I've seen one of those tactical kilts in person... at a bowling alley.
Both guys were wearing the uber tacticool ninja brand t-shirts, and just came off as really smug. They thought they were cooler than a bag of chilled cukes.

I just glanced at my brother and we both chuckled.

All that nonsense aside, it looks like this class was a lot of fun!

Too cool. I'd love to take a class from Mas again. Maybe I'll have to come to chehalis...

Thanks for the pics!

Here is a good pic of the hands on gun retention training. This is 3-4 hours a day and it is live.

One of the drills simulating being wounded and having to fire from a officer down position.

Thanks for the AAR.....what was the round count handgun/shotgun? Was shotgun all slug?

Hi Dave, round count is 500+ with handgun and 110 slugs 10-20 buckshot. I brought 90 slugs and had to borrow 20 from Scotty and Rug Rat.

Hi thanks for the info. I always thought that Mas Ayoob had an interesting take on shotguns. His book about shotguns is great.
