Is any sort of thing available for revolvers using a light beam and light reactive target to simulate a shot during dry fire and indicate where the shot hit?

The LTX internal laser looks like it might work in a revolver of .38 spl or greater length if it does not need an external battery connection. But at $299 per?????

OW!

Beamhit should work. It's a thing you put in the barrel, and works of the Vibration of dryfiring. They do have cartridge shaped lasers now for magazine/cylinder work. Rather expensive system though. $250 for the unit, 30-40 for each caliber laser attachment. Although I did see one going on eBay for around 150 with a few calibers.

Would love to have one, but 250+ is a lot of reloading supplies/range fees/part of another gun/etc...

The best gadget is a Dry Fire Laser Blaster (I have one). It slides into the bore and it flashes a laser spot on the target when the hammer falls so you see exactly where the bore alignment was when the hammer hit. That way, you can do holster draw practice or just target practice. It works well, but I am not 100% sure the company is still around.

Thanks for the info.

The Light Load is the only one in budget now and might be worth trying just because of the price. Doesn't seem to have an associated reactive target, though and a Google search of the company comes up with tons of geneology but no company. I might be able to build the target. Hmmm...

The others are interesting, but budget demands $200+ for the items vs all the range trips $200 allows sort of decision.

The Laser Blaster mentioned a couple of posts earlier is probably what you want. They are still around, but I don't remember the URL. Try running a google search on it.

It is expensive, though. However, it would be worth a ton for the practice that it helps with.

I think I paid about $150 for the Laser Blaster a few years back. Considering what an expensive hobby this is, I didn't even think twice about it. It is quite useful for practice.

Oh lordy, lordy. Don't tell my wife that shooting is expensive. I managed to do smoke and mirrors and convince her that reloading has made it inexpensive.
:(
