I recently acquired an AMT Lightning 25/22 (a 10/22 clone). It is equipped with a butler creek folding stock and I've added a magpul tactical barrel band. I also have a basic truglo red dot sight and a dovetail adapted picatinny rail in the mail to mount that scope (as the receiver on the AMT has a dovetail rather than tapped holes). In fitting it as a "holy crap what was that!?" Gun for the house I'd like to mount it with a light for all the typical reasons but I'd also like a laser for times when I might shoot from the hip or in odd positions. My question is:
Would I do better to offset mount a laser on my rail that has a simple on off switch along with a pressure switched light at the 600 position on the barrel band, or should I go for a light laser combo that is pressure switched together and mounted at the 600 position? If u've tried one or both of these configs what did u like/dislike/wish was different? This is the first time I've done any tactical accessorizing at all so I appreciate any of the advice I may be given from the many pros I know hang out here.
God bless and stay safe.
