I am having some trouble with my Glock 20 makin light primer strikes. It only happens a small fraction of the time but it is quite frustrating in the middle of an action pistol shoot. Is this a common and easily diagnosable problem?
Remove firing pin and spring. Blow out firing pin channel with some Gun Scrubber or non-chlorinated brake cleaner. Make sure it is thoroughly clean. Do not oil firing pin channel or firing pin. Replace firing pin and spring. Test fire. If you are still having problems, replace firing pin spring.
Both of my 20's had a little trouble with that. Neither my 21's nor 20's were 100% with Winchester primers in my handloads. Not sure what the issue was. CCI and Federal primers were 100%.
Keep the firing pin channel clean, make sure your primers are fully seated.
Texagun is correct. I had the same problem with my 1st generation Glock 19 I sent it back to the factory and thats what they did. They cleaned the striker channel with Gun Scrubber. Air dry it or blow it out with air. Make sure you get it dry and do not oil it or put any lube in the striker channel.
