What are the some of the lightest 22 semi auto rifles?

I know there’s The AR-7 it's only 2 pounds or so, but it’s a piece of junk (from what I’ve read)

Thanks.

the marlin papoose is very light, and also the 795 is not bad. they will also be top notch in accuracy and reliability. The Feather 22, I have heard good and bad things about, they look great, but i would want to check one out, face to face , before I bought it. The Majestic arms take down, may be the lightest of all now.

the best thing about them is, they are a actual GUN STORE, with a store front, right in the
heart of New York city, really. You know Bloomy is just itching for the day these guys close.
but it is us, his internet sales, that keep him going...

My Savage 64F is only a couple of pounds. The weight is basically the barreled action; the stock is cheap, hollow molded plastic.

The Nylon 66 is about the lightest next to the AR-7 that I've handeled.

I prefer a bit more weight on my rifles.

In an conventional "adult-sized" longarm, the Nylon 66 is tough to match at 4 lbs. I don't know of anything being currently produced by a factory that would, although I'm sure that a 10/22 heavily massaged with money could do it.

yes, after checking around on the net last night, it looks like the Feather is lightest, but they are soso, and the marlin Papoose , at 3.25 pounds, is next.
I would get the papoose over the feather, or anything else that has been mentioned here; my next choice would be the Browning.

Now then, if you can get off of an auction site, a remington 240 or 241 , take down model, which will be a copy of the browning, and you wont mind beating them up, becuase they proly allready will be, then get that. i have a 241 GS model, which is shorts only, and it is takedown also. i won it for 90 bucks on a auction site, and even though it is a wreck, with absolutely no bluing, pitting everywhere, and the wood looks 100 years old, it is the funnest 22 I have.
at the 50 yd range, with the speed of cb rounds, you can actually see the round being lobbed downrange...
and it is so quiet with the cb shorts or just regular shorts, that hearing protection , while recommended, is not necessary!!!!!

Nylon 66 is probably the best combo in dependability and light weight. Any thing lighter has issue and anything more dependable weighs more.

The ar7 is the lightest at 2.5#
the marlin papoose is 3.25#
the nylon 66 is 4#

Henry makes a "survival rifle" that is light weight and floats if dropped over the side of a boat. Semi auto.
Henry AR-7, and all other AR7's from Charter in years past = Semi-auto, maybe, maybe not!
A large majority of them simply don't work.

IMHO: Get a Browning Auto and don't look back!

Sure it weighs 5 pounds, but you will never know it unless you put it on the scales and weigh it.

Nylon 77 (Remington)

Yeah, a bit over four pounds if I recall correctly, and that with a longer barrel than the standard Ruger 10/22. It's a discontinued 10-shot mag fed rifle that's very, very accurate for what it is. I sold mine years ago and wish I had it back - the guy needed it for his little boys for a first rifle...:banghead:

remember this as well, thought the papoose and the other is lighter than the browning, the browning is all steel, including the receiver, and the action parts. so that is niiiiiiiccceee...
