M2 Carbine
member
With my friend I went to a Dallas gun show last Saturday.
Just looking for bargains and wanted to see the new Skyy, FN 5.7 and Kel Tec .223 pistols.
After finding some bargains on .380 bullets a fellow came by with a 50 year commemorative Iver Johnson M1 Carbine. When he said $350 I told him I'd give him $350 but that was too low a price for that rifle, it was in like new shape, and he could probably get more for it. He said he would rather just sell it to me for $350, so I bought it. Then he pulled out and handed to me two 30 round mags and a Carbine bayonet, all in like new shape.
A fellow walked up and asked if the Carbine was for sale. I handed it to him and said, It belongs to this man and he wants $400. No sale. Oh well I tried to get the previous owner an extra $50.
The "Red Tape" involved in the sale?
ZERO
I handed the seller the money and he handed me the rifle.
I love Texas gun laws.
Next I found and bought a new FN 5.7 pistol from a FFL dealer ($759).
The "Red Tape" involved?
Fill out the "Yellow Sheet", which BTW is white now.
Show my Driver's and Concealed Carry Licenses. (no NICS check)
Pay for the pistol and some 5.7 ammo and carry it out the door.
