Anyone use the Lee Pro Auto Disc measure on thier Hornady LNL with the powder thru expander die?

I've done it before when I was reloading small pistol loads. Particularly the .380 ACP, 9MM and 9MM Makarov. Got great results every time. I recommend if you're going to do that, get the double disk kit and a micrometer bar to give you more adjustment range. I did and was glad later I did. Didn't always use all the disks, but liked having the extra disks to give me more adjustment range.

Never tried it, but now use the dillon powder measure on my LNL, instead of the Hornady.
Give it a try and let us know how it turns out with pictures. The Hornady may be good for high volume powder charges but its inconsistant with small charges under 10 grains.

99.99% sure it will work
The Lee Auto-Disk Powder Measure (both the Standard and the Pro) mount on the Lee Die. As long as the measure does not get in the way of any parts of the press, it operates independent of anything other than the die (or the chain which pulls the disk back in place). I used the return spring on my Autodisks, so was independent of everything.
If the measure does get interfered with, Lee makes a riser that will raise the measure up out of the way.

As a secondary note, unlike the higher-priced Dillon, the Lee doesn't need a return bar to insure it doesn't hang up and cause squibs/kabooms. The Dillon measure, particularly when operated on a 550 press, has had a history in the past, when operated with springs, of hanging and causing squibs/kabooms. Checking with Brian Enos or Dillon will confirm the need for the "failsafe" assembly.
The less expensive Lee, on the other hand, works like a champ and doesn't have a history of hanging up when operated with only springs. Use with confidence and don't make any mistake, the Lee Pro Auto Disk is a fine powder measure.

I have five Lee pro powder measures for my four hole Classic Turret and they work great, and I mostly load pistol, hench why i want to use it on my LNL.
I really like the adj. charge bar also.
It would be so much easier using this measure with the disc's rather then re-calibrating the Hornady measure for each different load.
I will be using the riser with the powder thru expander die as I do on the turret. I will keep a Pro measure dedicated to the LNL along with my Hornady measure.
The Lee pro measures are the best i have ever used for charging pistol cases, when operated with the springs, and will free up another die hole in the press.
I think it will work great, will keep you informed.

The LNL Powder Unit works very well for me, for charges in the 4.5-6.0 range. Since it comes WITH the press, and is a quality piece of gear, try using it instead of using the Lee unit.

I use a Lee pro disc with Lee PTX on my RCBS Pro2000. Works great for pistol loads.

I think you're going to get great results and I've loaded on a LnL for a decade and yes, I used Lee Pro Auto Disks for pistol on my LnL AP to eliminate having to adjust my LnL measure for pistol. I actually ended up having a Lee measure for each pistol caliber and used my LnL for all my rifle. Worked out great, never had to adjust the Lee measures and the micrometer I had on the LnL made quick work of setting up for rifle.

I found it's easier with the LnL bushings to just swap in a pre-set/pre-labeled Pro Auto disk measure for each pistol powder than other other method I used. As cheap as they are, you can afford to do this easily. Sounds like you have several already. I had four, one for each caliber I loaded a lot and once I adjusted for pistol calibers I only occasionally loaded for.

If you already have them bought, I think you should devote one to be pre-set for each pistol caliber you load for.

They are as good as any for loading most pistol powders and you can't beat the price for them with the dies and the through hole powder drop. They can spoil you.

I know they will work great and you will be glad you used them. Not sure if you need the riser or not. I'd try it both ways. I don't think I used it and sold off my risers instead, but I'm not sure without getting them out of the box. They're packed right now while I'm in the process of changing/upgrading my press.
