lock out die

I don't have it on an LNL but I have 2 that I use on my Pro2000.

I like them a lot and they work. You just have to adjust them to your correct load each time. This requires that you have to adjust the die in and out, so I put lee lock rings on mine. Next you will find that there are 2 "feet" that sample the powder. One for less then 40 cal, and one for over. I find changing them a pain, so I just have two of the dies. I changed my setup so now every round gets a lockout check.

It does work and you can tweak it to detect just lighter then your spec, major screw ups like no powder or just heavier then your spec. You cannot have it do all of these at once.

I generally set mine to go after missed charges and light charges. I try and load so that overcharges will fill the case and spill.

Yes, I use one on my LNL, and it's the bee's knees.

In fact, I have two of them, one each set up for 9mm and .45.

I drive a cork in a case to show the level of a specific powder so when I adjust the Lockout Die to that powder I can dial it in quickly. The middle case in the pic below shows the cork at the capacity of 4.8 grains of WST or W231 (both are the same).

The Lockout Die is advertised by RCBS to catch a no-powder or a double-charge situation, but I've found it will also catch a light or heavy powder drop. The cases on the left and right of the middle case will all be caught by the Lockout Die.

I can't recommend it enough.
