I'm loading my first batch of home cast bullets.....

using the 312-155 Lee mold. all bullets are gas checked.

I have one batch that was pan lubed with 50-50, and another that was both pan lubed and then rolled in Liquid Alox.

going to shoot these in a converted Saiga rifle....

going to try both 2400 and 1680 .....

thinking of starting with 15 gr of 2400 and 17 gr of 1680

these loads are reported to cycle the action on an SKS well, but I don't know how that compares with the Kalashnikov action.

Any one want to chime in?

Yodar?

Sound reasonable???

Well I wouldn't load a ton of them BUT I believe that you'll find that 17 grains of 2400 will do the trick. I've found that 17-19 grains of 2400 work about perfectly for me under a gas checked bullet with some rifles liking the higher pressure/speed as I move up to 19 grains but most seem to be happiest right at 17-18. FWIW.

Could you tell me what kind of rifle you're shooting these out of?

I've been shooting a wide variety of different guns with a gas checked bullet over 17-19 grains of 2400. My primary loadings are for 8mm Mauser, .303 British, 7.62x54R.
