As stated in the "No LWCHP for my M37" thread, my M37 hits very high at 10yds with 158gr bullets, +P or not. S&W has asked me to send the gun in for a checkup due to this.
The gun is accurate and the windage is dead on. With lighter bullet loads, POA and POI coincide, so I do have legitimate choices for carry ammo. What's giving me grief is that I am generally a "heavy and slow" guy. That said, this is an Airweight and while I can control it, heavier bullets aren't very pleasant to shoot. I can't help thinking this is a sign I should explore the "light(er) and fast" end of the 38special carry spectrum.
I currently am carrying Winchester's +P 125gr SJHP. I also plan to test Speer's 135gr Short Barrel load. Both have done well in the gelatin tests over at Stoppingpower.net, for what that's worth...
Soooo, what should I do? Keep the gun as is, stop worrying and learn to love "light and fast", or should I send it back in and get the gun adjusted for the good ol' FBI load?
