I am loading .223 for my M4 and cant find any data for loading this with WIN 231. Is this a feasible loading? What is the best powder for this round? im not shooting precision but basic target withing 100m. Thanks in advance!

The problem is that you are trying load a fast burning pistol powder in a rifle cartridge. So, perhaps you ought to get a full size reloading manual, and look over the the situation with respect to the bullets you intend to load.

H335/H4895/Varget/Benchmark
748
RL15
TAC

Are all good choices!

I have also had good results with Win 748 and Hornady 50 grs.

231 is used in pistol cartridges and can't imagine you will find any data for
use in the 223.

Another fan of H-335 and CCI mag primers under 55gr FMJ's. They shoot great out of my 16" Oly.

Good luck finding a load with W231 and .223's

You don't want to be using anything that burns that fast in a .223. For 100 yard shooting with the 55 gr. bullet, I've used 748, H-335, and Benchmark with complete success.

Guess what powder I use for 223.
You can use w296/H110 in a 223, the velocity will just be kind of low.
And with an auto, reduced 223's most likey won't cycle the action.
I saw some 223 loads that used Unique, they were very reduced velocity.
I used Unique for some cast lead 30-30 rounds. I think I only used like 7gr or 8gr of unique. They worked good.
