I used to load .44 mag on my Square Deal B, but when I bought a .500 magnum I had to get a bigger press. There are no .500 magnum dies/shellplates available for the Square Deal and with factory ammo at $2-$6/round, reloading was definitely going to happen.
Since I now have two presses, I decided to segregate by primer size and moved .44 mag duties over to the new RL 550. .45 ACP was added after the new press purchase so the choice of which die set/conversion kit was obvious.
The Square Deal was able to load .44, but it was tight. Resizing could get interesting. The RL 550 makes it much easier, with more leverage and more space between casings for my fingers.
