Loading 5.7x28 with 55 grain 5.56 bullets?

I've read about subsonic loads being possible with such a combination. Where could I find load data? Also, where could I get about 500 once-fired 5.7 cases for a reasonable price?

Ebay for the brass, new is still not available. Load data is scarce and limited mostly to individuals data (which is ALWAYS suspect). there is a forum www.fivesevenforum.com that will likely have the data you need.

oleg, i got my 5.7 last week and am about to start reloading. i'm about 1 hr east of nashville and would like to compare notes with some folks on this caliber. i've read about a lot of people having difficulty.

According to QuickLoad, I'd start at about 2.0gr of a medium-fast pistol powder like Bullseye, N310, N320, N330.

Follow all the cautions as you would working up a subsonic rifle load.

FWIW, for subsonic 223, we use under 4.0gr of Unique or Titegroup, and a 55gr FB.
