Hello all, Everyone know how hard some powders are to find right now, so if you are like me, your trying different powders that are lucky enough to find something. Anyway I come across some Winchester AutoComp, but not much data in any of my books or pamplets. Looking on line, was some help and this was the results of my test loads.
For 9mm, I was using Berry's 115gr plated RN bullets. OAL 1.130 Win. Primers
Pistol used; M&P 9mm Standard full size.
5.1 grs. resulted in these velocities for 5 shots.
1080 fps.
1103 fps.
1096 fps.
1072 fps.
1078 fps.
Ave. 1089 fps.
For .40S&W, I was using SNS cast 180gr FP bullets. OAL 1.125 Win. Primers
Pistol used; XDS .40S&W Standard Full size.
5.4 grs. resulted in these velocities for 5 shots.
987 fps.
1004 fps.
1013 fps.
994 fps.
988 fps.
Ave. 998 fps.
For .45acp, I was using Missouri cast 230gr RN. bullets. OAL 1.250 Win. Primers
Pistol used; Ruger SR1911 Full size.
6.3 grs. resulted in these velocities for 5 shots.
864 fps.
866 fps.
863 fps.
872 fps.
869 fps.
Ave. 866 fps.
FWIW I found all these loads quite accurate, and IMO none of the brass had signs of over pressure. Had no cycling issues in any of the pistols used. I don't think any of the loads were out of line for the velocities given. Although I think the .40 S&W loads are on the high side for lead bullets, I'm going to drop 2 tenths of a grain, as I would like them running about 960 fps.
Thought I would post this to show my results with AutoComp. I must add that if I could find more, I would buy it, as I do like it. LM
