Just wondering if anyone has been so disgusted with the indexing on the Loadmaster that manual indexing would be an option.
Thanks for reply's.

I don't own one, but when I was looking at them I found an "indexing" fix on the Youtube. Don't know if it would help or not, just rang a bell when I read your post.

The Load-Master can be set for manual indexing simply by removing the indexer. Pull it out, set it aside, and index manually. OTOH, check out the Loadmastervideos.com videos and forum for solutions for indexing issues.

FWIW, I last had indexing issues about 18 months ago; unfortunately, I don't remember what I did to fix it.

A secondary function of the indexer is to lock the shellplate in place after rotating it. It 'slips' over and wedges itself between the lugs on the shellplate and the carrier. If you pull it out and rotate the shellplate by hand, nothing will lock the shellplate in place with any precision. The 'tail' of the ejector will (and should) allow the shell plate to move a good 10 degrees in either direction. You are likely to ding up the brass case mouths on the dies by doing this.

Ditto on loadmastervideos.com, they have some great videos that show how to fix all kinds of problems. They guys there are really helpful & they know their stuff. Just put a post & you will get a solution. Tell Darwin, exbluelight sent you.

True--kind of. At least for me, I have been able to avoid this. Personally, I use this mode early in the setup procedure I use, and have no trouble with damaging sraightwall / pistol cases.

I also do not consider manual indexing on a Progressive to be a good feature, unless I load one case at a time. If I do that, I use a SS press, or my (Lee) turret with or without the indexing rod removed.

For the Load-Master, I made it a point to get the indexing problems solved, and I use it strictly as a progressive.
