In my Colt 7.62 X 39, with the Hornady 123 gr. 310" bullet, 25.0 grains of Reloader 7 powder and 31 grains of H-335 has been accurate. If you decide to use thus data, work up to it. These are maximum loads and are safe in my rifle.
This not entirely accurate. The first Ruger Mini-30's had a .308 diameter bore, it was not tapered. The .308 bore was chosen because Ruger had a warehouse full of barrels left over from their Failed XGI project. Once those barrels were used up they produced the Mini-30 with the larger bore diameter.
Ruger used to have a list of bore diameters vs Serial numbers on their web site, but I do not know if it is still available. A quick call to them will get you the information you need.
Lots of load data available for the 7.62 x 39. The question for the OP is, what powders do you have and what powders can you find?
Accurate 1680 was designed for the x39. If you can find it it is a good choice.
