After reading numerous positive reviews and viewing his work product, I contacted Ray, owner and operator of Lobo Gun Leather and placed an order for a Holster (Model 1 Pancake) and a matching dump pouch for my S&W Model 40.

That was a litttle over three weeks ago and they were delivered this past Friday. The price for the custom gear, including shipping, was under $73.

The Holster was ordered with a 15% cant and I requested that the mouth be cut and lowered 1/4" to slightly expose the trigger guard and the cylinder. The work and attention to detail was precise. Ray's worksmanship is outstanding. The leather boning feature of the Holster mates the 40 as if it was a secong skin. The retaining qualities of the holster is perfect. The leather, stitching and dye finish is exceptional. Even the dump pouch was molded to the cartridges.

The Lobo [Model 1] Pancake Holster maintains the Piece tight to the body thanks to the preformed body-contoured shape of the rig. Concealing my Model 40 is an effortless task.

Needles to say, I'm extremely satisfied with this combo and I highly recommend his product.

Yeah, I poked around his site a bit. Looks like he does good work at a good price.

And that's a purdy lemon squeezer you got there too los.

The pics are great, as are the leather goods! But I must say the ol' Lemon Squeezer" with the stags takes my breath away!!

Thanks, Guys.

The Stags are authentic Sambar.

Custom stocks, especially Stags, for the Model 40 are a very rare item as most custom grip makers don't carry a Model 40 template. As most of you know, the model 40 has a different shaped area on the frame where stocks are fitted, so typical j-frame stocks/grips will not fit.

I was very lucky to find them.

Well, I dropped my CZ off with Ray at Lobo this morning ... seems like a good guy and in a couple weeks when I get my leather I'll be posting my own review.

I'm having him make a Model 1 in Cordovan with slide shield and detailed boning.

I'm also having him NOT twist the outside of the belt slots (even though for an OWB holster its a real nice touch) because I will want to be able to use it as an OWB or add spring clips and use it IWB (like I do with all the other pancake holsters I own).

Yeah, I'm weird but I've been doing this for a while and it works well for me. :D
