Well, there was a local estate auction this am, that had probably 50+ guns. So, I went over to see about some Colt Mark IV's, (1) Series 70 .45, (1) Series 80 .45, and (1) Series 80 .38 Super...After trying to pry my way to the front, 7 year old daughter in tow, I finally got to get a peak on these Colts. I couldn't get close enough to grab any to give it a thorough check over, but they sure looked like they were in just as good a shape as all the gentlemans other guns. I decided to leave before it started, cause I had some shopping to do, and it looked like there were alot of people interested in them Colts. I just got off the phone with a guy that was there and he had bought a few longguns, he said that the Colts went for an average of $675:banghead::banghead::banghead:, soo anyway I have since started drinking to try and forget.:(

yeah this same type of thing has happened to me, but i have also been to auctions everything sold for wayyyy tooo much. and even have managed to snag a few deals. thing to remember is that the guy that got them might have been very willing to go alot higher than what you would be willing to have paid. thats what i always tell myself anyway!

From all the auctions, that sells firearms I have been too, deals are rare. Most seem to go more or about what they are worth. I have picked up a few deals ($200 Russian SKS, $80 French Berthier), but most time I went home without a deal.
