Police: Find Weapons Inside Home
A Wheeling man is accused of attacking his girlfriend and threatening his neighbors around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday.
According to reports, Nathan Hershberger and his girlfriend were arguing over a parked car outside of his home on Edgewood Street in Wheeling.
Police said Hershberger locked the woman inside a bedroom, but she kicked the door open.
Police said the woman was punched several times in the face and body and suffered bruises to her arm, had red marks on her neck and a knot on her head.
Neighbors claimed they tried to step in, but police said Hershberger said he was going to get a pistol if they didn't leave.
When police entered the home they said they found between six to 12 guns, including shotguns, rifles, a revolver, a knife, brass knuckles and several boxes of ammunition.
Joe Roxby lives in the area and was a Wheeling Police officer for 25 years and said the discovery of weapons is shocking.
Christopher Hall, who is also a friend of Hershberger and lives upstairs, said the weapons are for hunting purposes and having the guns in the home are ok, as long as they legal.
Several other neighbors said hey don't feel comfortable with the weapons in their neighborhood.
Police said the weapons found in the home are legal, but officers gathered them for evidence and for safety reasons.
Hershberger has been arraigned and is charged with domestic battery.

This drive me nuts. Guys gets charged for domestic battery. Story ends up being about how many guns he has. Maybe the news channel and police should be held accountable if he gets robbed.
