THE CHAIR IS AGAINST THE WALL
Hey all. I just finished installing a Jack Weigand scope mount on my 10/22. Is there any compelling reason for why I shouldn't Locktite those puppies in place?

Also, is it a good idea to Locktite the screws on the scope rings as well?

Thanks!

Depends on how much shooting you do; but my policy has always been to apply blue loctite to anything with threads that goes on a gun. I have seen all kinds of parts work loose due to vibration from riding in vehicle, shooting, and various other causes... if you shoot it enough, it will work loose eventually.

Agreed - blue Loctite is good insurance and yet things will come off again when needed - with GOOD screwdrivers! I do forget to use it sometimes and often things stay done up - but loosening does seem to start unannounced and once started can progress real quick - usually too when at the range - and all tools were forgotten that day! :p

Based on personal experiences I heartily agree with the other posters.

Besides, spending a nice afternoon chasing a wandering zero gets old... ;)
