Don't have a link yet, but Fox News just now reported that the mastermind of the London bombings has been arrested in Cairo, Egypt.

OK, here's what's scary

Checked MSNBC, and it says this guy is a biochemist....So what's next? Chemical or biological attacks?

Dfaugh, the point is that thes masterminds are not stupid . They have the will and knowledge and intelligence to to great harm. Some are well trained in psychiatry and skilled at manipulating people like you find in cults .They go after youngsters who are easy to manipulate .

He studied chemistry at the University of North Carolina

Why the hell are people from Muslim countries allowed into the US?! :cuss:

This is unacceptable.

I'm impressed with the speed.

The wife and I heard it on the radio this AM.

We both commented on how quickly they identified the bombers and their boss and amazed at how fast they nailed him in Egypt. Glad to see Egypt cooperating, but I'm sure that Hosni Mubarak, having seen Sadat gunned down by Islamofacists, isn't going to let them get a real foothold in his back yard.

Assuming they have solid goods on this guy, they will probably leave him in Egypt, since they aren't bothered by a media that will clamor about the methods they use to extract information on other planned bombings. After they have all the information they can get, they will probably ship what's left of him to the UK for trial and life imprisonment at Dartmoor or some other "country club".

I also heard the guy was educated in the USA, South Carolina I think?

DonP, I too have been impressed with the speed.

It does say something about have a few million surveillance cameras in your country, doesn't it?

And, it appears that the terrorists made some very silly mistakes--they were obviously on to them early on because they'd carried their ID with them. Now put sheer manpower--every bobby grabs 25 files to work over for correlations--or gets to try to stay awake watching surveillance tapes--and they were able to put the package together very fast.

The surveillance camera phenomenon is creeping in here rather nicely as well. The people want it, so our transition to a Democracy is speeding up.

be glad they didn't teach him nuclear physics

from now on, terrorists should only be allowed to take classes like american students take, like underwater basket weaving

NC is busting its chops to get the designation "World Class."

Weeellll, London's bomb guru studied at NC State.

Kalid Sheik Mohammad, the chief engineer of 911, graduated NC A&T.

The federales busted a Hezbolah cell buying cigarettes at JR's in Statesville, NC and smuggling them to Detroit for resale.

I can't wait to see what NC's next world class stunt will be.

<For the moment I'll ignore Charlotte's status as a testtube Agenda 21 city and its completely out of control spending and Duke Energy's support of a carbon tax.>

thoughts?
Actually, the remotely-triggered bomb is a tactic the terrorists are known to use, often with the promise that the mule only needs to drop it off. Taking that a step further and telling the patsy that it's just a drill, probing security, is not too much of a jump.

Suggesting that the government was the handler, however, is a bit of a stretch.

Yes one of them had been here for six months but another had recently visited family here and just before the bombing one of them had called someone at a mosque in NYC !!!

It might have something to do with the fact that a specific individual has as yet committed no crime and followed all the appropriate procedures for entering our country for study. No, wait, your idea is much better - let's not let in anyone, for any reason, who is from a Muslim country, regardless of whether or not that individual has done anything which would justify denying them entry.

See, here's how it works. FIRST someone commits a crime. THEN you punish them and deny them entry.

And down side is..........? :neener:

Also do not forget that these terrorists had British passports, allowing them to enter the US without a visa.

I heard the Egypt foreign minister today on BBC criticizing Europe for giving too many arabs asylum without asking how they got in trouble in their home country in the first place. Giving them European passports even enlargens the problem. They then have unrestricted travel and residence in many countries in Europe. The can also misuse the trust that the US places in Europeans through the Visa Waiver Program.

Thanks, glad you agree :)

Thanks, glad you agree

I've never bought into the whole "hey let's demonize an entire culture/race/religion due to the acts of a radical minority." I recognize that there is a minority of "Americans" (term used loosely) who would be more than happy to commit genocide against Arabs, and they (the rabid "Americans") worry me as much as any other would-be terrorist.
