The 75 grain Hornady AMax loaded to 2.45 oal may or may not stabilize in your barrel. It makes it to 1000 in my 1 in 8 twist 22 inch flattop upper with 24.7 grains of RL15, Rem 7.5 primers and LC brass. This is pretty much near a max load as it exits the muzzle at over 3000 feet/sec. The Hornady 68 grain loaded with 25 grains of Varget or RL15 should easily see you to 600. Once again, this is close to a max load. It works fine in my DCM uppers, but it popped primers in a standard Bushmaster 5.56 barrel.

I use the Sierra 69 gr HPBT in my Savage model 12FV (1:9 twist). Longest confirmed kill - 587 yards - and there is more left in it.

I use IMR4198 or AA2230-c. Gotta work up your own load though.

1x9 24" stainless barrel

Hornady 75 grain match stabilize in mine, but I've only tested to 100 yards.

69 grain Sierra MKs are good to 400 yards in my rifle.
I was shooting
Win brass
25.2 grains Varget
CCI 41 primers
I have since used Remington 7 1/2s with little or no change vis a vis the CCIs

The best part about the Sierra 69's - $12.50 to 13.00 per 100.

Using the Stoney Point bullet comparator - these are match quality bullets.

I shoot through a 7.7 Krieger barrel from my custom AR out to 600yds with 69gr.SMK on top of 25gr W748 Win case and win primers .

W748 is a great powder for .223

Work up your loads carefully never take ones favorite recipe at face value for your own firearm.

Peace
