Its dramatic changes in conditions that brings condensation. Its actually better to leave the gun in the truck year round, than it is to bring it in and out during times of sharp changes.Temperature fluctuations in the cab of a vehicle will destroy good quality tools. I guess the condensation with the warm-up ain't a good thing. Probably does the same on guns.
Ive left guns in my work trucks for years, through all the various seasons (-0 to +100) and never had an issue. Same goes for ammo in the mags.
