Long-term, rust-proof VEHICLE gun storage options?

Temperature fluctuations in the cab of a vehicle will destroy good quality tools. I guess the condensation with the warm-up ain't a good thing. Probably does the same on guns.
Its dramatic changes in conditions that brings condensation. Its actually better to leave the gun in the truck year round, than it is to bring it in and out during times of sharp changes.

Ive left guns in my work trucks for years, through all the various seasons (-0 to +100) and never had an issue. Same goes for ammo in the mags.

Dang, he beat me to it.

I won't go into why,,,
But I keep a revolver in my bathroom.

It's in a drawer accessible from the throne.

About once a month I wipe it down with a Rem-Oil Wipe,,,
It's a stainless steel revolver and hasn't developed one rust spot.

It's been there for seven years now.

Soulles,,, eerrr,,, stainless steel has a purpose.

cant see the use of having a truck gun and vaccum bagging it. I want it to be able to be used fast. I have a cheap atr Mossberg 06 that I cleaned real well and had sattin duracoat applied over all the metal. Its held up in my truck for two years now. I live in northern mich. and our weather goes from humid high 90s to -20 in the winter. I may respray it next summer for some preventive maintanance
