Went shooting yesterday and I love my G19. Anyways, the guy at the gunstore said the only gun that can handle a +p round is the h&k usp. I thought that was weird because police depts. issue that type of round for glocks. I just want to shoot it every blue moon and keep it loaded in there for home defense. I also have a sig 226 st, and a beretta 92fs. Any opinions?

+p is fine in any modern 9mm firearm on the market. A steady diet of +p will increase wear and tear but that's about the extent of it. Your gunshop commando is a silly goose.

Gun shop guy is wrong. The three guns you mention will do just fine with +P. However, such ammo does cause increased wear, so I wouldn't shoot 500 rounds of +P per week, every week, for 10 years. If you handload and shoot very hot loads a lot, at least look into a stronger recoil spring.

+P is like high speed in a car. A Corvette can do it, but you'll wear the thing out faster if you drive 140 mph all the time.
