I posted a thread about Longshot and pistol calibers (9 and 40SW) I am real happy with it in those, I lucked into a big jug of it and trying to use it for as many loads as I can.

Want to load up some of the new Hi Tek coated LSWC 158 gr bullets. None of my manuals have Longshot for 357 Mag lead Even Lymans Cast.

There is data from Hodgdon and the 158 gr XTP so I can use that as a baseline and use the start load around 7 grs or a bit more.

Anyone use LS with regular 158 LSWC hard cast bullets or these new coated ones??

Thanks

I haven't tried longshot yet in .357mag but I found this in Steve's Pages.

7.3-8.4gr of longshot for 158-160 gr bullets. It doesn't even say lead or jacketed so it looks like you'll have to work up your own.

Gamestalker uses a lot of Longshot, maybe he'll be along later to help you out.

Ya, I use a lot of LS, but not in .357. I run it with jacketed bullets in 38 spl., 9mm, and .40 cal.. I've run it in a few others also, but I don't think .357 is one of them? I'll take a glance at my notes and my data also to see if I can help.
