It's a Victory model. After doing some research, it seems that Parker Hale Ltd, over in England, jazzed up some of these sometime after the war. The hammer is a little different, the sights have been changed and the trigger must have had some tweaking because it is the smoothest, lightest revolver trigger I've ever felt, just perfect. The nickeling job is superb. It looks and feels like it's an inch thick but all of the details (lettering) are still crisp. It just gleams. It has British proofmarks all over it and the Parker Hale name is up on the sight.
The weird thing is that I was sold this gun without the seller telling me that it had originally been a .38 short gun. When I got it and found out, I was mad. But, I shot the thing anyway and was totally pleased. It's a tack driver with any regular .38SPL loads. I got tricked into buying something that was really good, I guess. It only cost me $225. The old grips were $125 (ouch) but they were too nice to pass up, considering that I saw new ones going for the same price. These have that nice yellowing going on. They go perfectly with the gun. It looks like some Texas oil millionaire's gun. I'm really pleased. It shoots AND looks great.
