Hey guys. I have some CPB 200 gr bullets sitting on my shelf waiting to be loaded for my 6" 686. I talked to CPB and they gave me some data over the phone. This is what they gave me.

8.5 gr-9.4 gr AA#9
11.0 gr max H110
Lil' gun (wont use it)

But, I am looking for more insight into the 200 grainers. I worked up to 11.0 gr H110 and was only yielding an avg 980-1000fps. Seems I should be yielding more than that. I have T/C Encore data for 204 grain bullets and the charges are much higher. Starting charge off at 15.8 gr of H110. I compared the encore data to my standard 357 mag data and the charges do not differentiate from the 170 gr on down in weight. Anyone have data or experience loading these? Anyone use encore data?

I also have 2400 and N110 powder on hand. Thanks in advance guys.

I sure haven't.
180 grains is about it for .357 case capacity / weight vis velocity. IMO.
But I shoot 140's & 158's in mine.

Lee Reloading manual shows:
200 grain lead bullet of unknown shape or hardness?
W-296 = 12.4 MAX = a Compressed Charge.
H-110 = 11.5 MAX.

This is old data, as W-296 & H-110 is the same powder now.

I shoot mine with 3.0-3.5gr of 700X. Under 700 fps loads that are very accurate on target. The alloy is 98% Pb +2% Sn.

The 3.5gr load shoots so well that I never got around to trying any other loads with this bullet.

Here are some loads from Alliant and Winchester for a 200gr Keith style bullet. Double-check these yourself.

Thanks rcmodel. Looks like i am right on with the H110 then. Is 296 h110 now?

Kelbro, I appreciate it. I will look into these loads.

Just noticed the formatting. The first number after the bullet type is MAX.

I found a few on loaddata.com. Here is a hot one -

Warning! Notes: trim to length: 1.285"; max. overall length with bullet seated: 1.590"; nominal bullet diameter (jacketed): .358"; barrel length: 8.375"; WARNING FOR 296 POWDER: loads using 296 powder require heavy bullet pull (heavy crimp); using 296 powder with light bullet pull (light crimp) may result in squib loads and cause damage to the firearm, shooter and/or bystanders; all loads shown are maximum charge wt. (grs.)
