I actually picked up a used Winchester 70 yesterday for $355. Was made in my birth year....1968. Hope to get out and shoot it soon.

Also picked up a new TC Omega muzzle loader...but that's another story.

Congrats on the new rifle. You definately can't go wrong with a Winchester model 70. Classic American rifle. Will never go out of style.

i just bought sunday a used glossy ADL Rem 700 with rifle sights in 30-06 for $300

i have seen other calibers of quality rifles for about the same and often with quality glass. i was about 10 minutes late recently on a 700 in .280 with a VXII 3-9. for $350 thats like a free rifle.

i know new is more fun, but dont sell used short. most bolt rifles sold used often have very few rounds down the pipe

Congrats on the "new" rifle. First deer I ever killed was with my kid brother's Model 70 in .30-06. I have a 7mm mag today in a Model 70, but my .30-06 is a Tikka M695 Whitetail Hunter. My .25-06 is a Savage Model 111, and is the cream of the crop, accuracy-wise. Good hunting!
