Im thinking of the new FNP's or maybe a Stoeger Cougar?

Any others i should consider?

I have a glock, XD, M&P, Ruger and CZ in .40... Its my favorite round and i just want something a little different under $500.

The FNP is a great gun, i have it in 9mm, but wish i had it in .40.

Have you also considered the Beretta 96FS? You can get a used one for about 450.

Also if you can find one, a Sigpro 2022 in 40 cal. Good luck in your hunt!

I have the Older sig pro 2340, it has been a fantastic firearm.

The FNP's really have my attention... i don't have one or have ever owned one in any caliber.

I own a Taurus PT24/7 Pro and absolutely love it. I paid right around 400 for it and it has a 15+1 capacity. Some people have had issues with these but i have not. Good all around gun for the money.

Check out the witness line, compact to full size DA and SA/DA ,basic to full race with the ability to change from a 9mm to a 10mm on most all.

I have a compact witness .45 and a full size 10mm witness.

I guess i could throw a 10mm barrel in the witness but i guess im looking for an excuse to buy another gun. LOL

Another Taurus to check out is their PT 940 very nice weapon if you can live with only a 10 round magazine .

Bersa Thunder 40 Pro for about $350

The best value for the money IMHO

I gotta throw my love for witnesses too. You can't go wrong with any of the Elite series of EAA Witness pistols (Match, Stock, Limited, Silver Team, Gold Team) but if money's tight, even the standard witness models are great guns.
