Anybody have a source for a cheap AR lower receiver? I prefer aluminum but will also consider poly. Thanks!

Look no further than PSA:

If you can find some of their "blemished" lowers, they usually run for $50-$60. I've bought two at this point, and they looked pretty much flawless. One had a slightly uneven serial number rollmark, and the other had a spot in the anodization inside the receiver (where it wasn't visible). Basically, their blemished receivers look better than many manufacturer's standard stuff.

I was hoping to get a blemished from them yesterday but they ran out before I could place an order :(. Was looking for something around 50 bucks.

The ATI Omni is a poly lower. Complete lowers run less than $150 and have a metal parts kit. I bought one, and have been pretty happy with it.

A stripped aluminum lower and build kit will cost more than a complete poly, but will be of higher quality if you know how to build it. Depending on your intended use, you might want the sturdier aluminum. On the other hand, the poly might suit your needs just fine.

Don't bother with the polymer stuff.

Hold out for the $50 PSA blems or search for a Spikes lower. They are GTG and usually can be found for under $100

You could take a stab at on of the GPI lowers from Centerfire Systems - the specs look good just judging from their website.

@BradN have you ordered from centerfiresystems.com before?

I have an ATI poly lower already I am really looking for aluminum, but if I did not have a better option than I would go with plastic.

I think Anderson Manufacturing had a few complete 7075T6 Aluminum lowers on their website for under 150. Every now and then you can get one of their stripped lowers for around 60 bucks.

Yes, they do...but then, their main business gives them a bit of practice in machining aircraft-grade alloy.

I've been very pleased with their products as quality control has been first-rate and customer service is superb.

@Russt thanks for the info just placed an order for an Anderson lower. I will let you guys know how it works out!
