I want to put a compact scope or red-dot on my 10/22. I prefer silver finish because it will match my SS gun. I don't want to spend much though. I need the scope, the rings and the scope mount maybe. I have a scope mount but it is blued not SS. I am wanting to do a compleat sliver gun with rings, base and optics all matching my gun.

I don't want to spend more than $50 on the scope and less would be better. I am not shooting at 200m so I just need something decent. I am asking advice because I am not an optics guy. I know guns not optics.

What brands are good and what ones are junk? I had a Simmonds Red-dot that I thought was just barly usable. I am looking for at least a step up from that. What are good brands and models? What is the best for the buck at the low end? Is BSA decent? I see a lot of them for my price range.

For $50 or less you are going have to take your chances,
I had a BSA red dot and it wouldn't hold zero. Others have had them and said they were fine. I currently have a BSA variable air gun scope on a Walther G22 and couldn't ask for any more. (I think it was more than $50 though.)
You might find a used Ultradot or such. They are good dots.
