For the past 36 years I have been carrying a knife daily I have had blade length checked once on a traffic stop.
Yes they do have better things to do. There are many laws/ordinances on the books that are not a priority for law enforcement. And blade length is a very stupid thing to regulate in the first place. However I do not choose to do things based on "Well its OK because the police are too busy to arrest me for this".
Or " The courts are too busy, the DA won't prosecute if I break this little law"
I guess I am a dinosaur, I still believe the law is the law. Even if I do not agree with it.
"It is only illegal if you get caught" isn't a thought that runs through my head when I strap on a firearm or shove a knife in my pocket when I get dressed in the morning.
for the most part....police really do have better stuff to be doing than running down and questioning people who may or may not have an "illegal" knife.
