Looking for a good portable shooting bench

I have used a few of the benches that have a cantilevered seat off of a center pole supported with 3 legs. I don’t like the fact that my weight has so much effect on what the table is doing. It seemed to help if I rested my feet on two of the support feet instead of the ground.

3 legs are better than 4, 4 will always wobble at some point, unless it stays in the same spot.

I have thought about putting one together like in the link in #4 but I like RC’s self contained bench (how about some more details).

I am a bit to…frugal to spend the $500-$600 that some of the links here cost but would like to build and sell hundreds of them at that price point.

Here is one I put together using a bunch of 1.5X1.5 X.125 angle drops. I didn’t build it to be “portable” but I can move it to mow. The seat adjusts up/down and back and forth with two ½” jam T bolts in each direction so there is no wobble. I had to replace the top a time or two over the years so we finally covered it. Click on the last photo for a video of around 30 rounds from a belt fed .308 on a tripod bolted to the table top.

Our portable shooting benches are made for the ground, but I have had customers send me pictures of these in trucks, even better than a trailer.
