Yeah they are it pretty much washes out the good deal. With that shipping they aren't offering any better deal than pops up from time to time.
My G&G was on sale at Cabelas for 219 but also used one of the 20 off 150 rebate coupons and a holiday shipping code so mine from Cabelas was 199 total.
It's still a good deal but not as good as it sounds with the 180.
Other places do not have them for sale at all. Not that I can find. Only the secondary market has them other than EMF. Must have gotten some NOS form somewhere. When I got my call from EMF they said while supplies last.Yea, shipping is $$$$$$! But still, if you paid full price without the sale, you'd still be paying the $$$$$$ for shipping.
Do other places have the .36 G&G for less?

As I said, not available. Dixie gun works does not have them.As I said in my post mine was shipped for free. You just have to watch the sales and promotions. As of now Cabalas no longer lists the G&G. I'm assuming Dixie still has them not sure of the price but I doubt as good of deal as EMF.

I had bought my G&G back in the mid 90s ofr 89 dollars from gander mountain I sold it thinking I could just pick up another. Then that darn movie or tv show hell on wheels made it hardWow, I'm glad I bought mine when I did. I looked at my paperwork and actually Cabelas had them on sale for the 199 so it wound up costing me 179 shipped to my door.
Actually it was free since I used my Cabelas card points. I've gotten three free guns that way.
I finally found a source for my HS G&G barrel. Numrich did not have what I needed. But I did find one. It needed some fitting. The Cyl pin hole needed to be reamed out a bit. Then polished. That made the cyl bind up and had to grind off a small amount off the forcing cone. Nice and tight and works well. I can switch it out in 5 min. from G&G to an S&G.
The griswold came in today. Looks like it should. Great buy.
Whughett,
I agree with your assessment on the look of the new brass frames. even thought I prefer the structural integrity of a steel frame, I have some 40ish year old examples that sport a beautiful patina.
I've heard of several folks wiping down the brass with Black powder fouling and leaving it there to get that patina started in the right direction.
