tried posting this in the rifle section with no luck so i am posting here. i neeeeeed a rifle coach/tutor in the tampa bay area. i have lost the skills i once had and would like very much to get them back. i don't need them to be a 1 moa at 1000 yards kind of good. just someone who knows things like: good trigger control, how to dope the wind, and how to make out a range card would be a good start.

Contact the NRA. They'll put you in touch with a local instructor and/or a local club.

jr81452,
If you will go to Alabama then why not drive up to Ft. Benning, Ga. We have 600 and 1000 yard matches. We will have a tripple 600 yard this weekend. Here is the web page: http://www.mindspring.com/~abodom/crc.htm

Port Malabar has a beautiful range. The web search I ran shows the club web page to be gone. However, I know they are still shooting there. If you cannot find a link or someone at Malabar then go to the web page above and send me an email, I can get you in touch with someone in south Florida.

Not exactly.

Publicola, a fellow blogger, keeps a list of people willing to introduce newbies to shooting. That's not the same thing as being a coach for someone wanting to learn a particular skill. Check his list here.
