I've looked online for some side saddles, but everything I'm finding goes on the side of the receiver. My Mossy has a standard wood butt on the gun and I want to buy something that holds the shells on the side of the butt.

...Just buy a generic buttcuff. It's not a sidesaddle if it's on the butt. You can find "fits everything" buttcuffs for shotguns all over the place, and a couple for rifles too.

Uncle Mike's sells an elastic buttcuff for like $5. It's not perfect but it's fine for most uses.

Well actually I would much prefer the side saddle which attaches itself opposite the ejection side, but I've heard they have clearance issues with some Mossberg pump actions... Any advice?

I like how that guy made a gigantic thread about how he was alarmed about what was specficially mentioned all over Tacstar's stuff. And would he not realize his forend was too long anyway? It's not rocket science

the Tacstar stuff is good for the money. if your forend is too long, your options are limited to a buttcuff

Since you have wood. I can pretty much tell you right now unless your forend is ribbed (not smooth) it will be too long without being switched out or shortened. just geta butt cuff if you want to keep the wood. they do make 4 rd sidesaddles that would clear with a long forend.
