I've always relied on my buddies RF which I think he bought at WM, but seems to work ok.

Looking to buy my first and dont want to spend a bunch but want something quality. I know, story of everyone's life.

Give me some options THR...

I've got the Sig Kilo 2000 and am completely satisfied and impressed with it. Well worth the price. I don't have any of the complaints people have made about much more expensive units regarding how difficult it is to register a distance, or how quickly it can pick up a reading. It's very fast, with a very easy to use UI.

I have Sig Kilo 1800 that pairs with my Sierra scope and works great. I also have a Halo XLR 1500 that works great for quite a bit less than the Sig.

Seems like most all of them work these days. Having an ARC function is important in mountains/valleys. I have a few of them now and #1 peeve for me is black led target and range display. Using them in dim light or against a dark background stinks. I wish all of them had a red or green lit display instead of black. Suggest you look through them before laying out cash to see how easily you can find the target indicator and read the measurements.

Another little thing is battery type. Two of mine use expensive camera cells which may not always be easy to find. The one I use for bowhunting runs on 9volts which is way simpler and cheaper.
