I like the notion of the 1911 format .22s.

Familiar and pleasing shape, easy to dis-assemble and clean and seemingly, generally overbuilt.

Also, damn but they're cuter than a milk crate full of puppies.

I say, however, hold your money till you can afford a S&W 41. They're like buttah!

Todd.

My shooting buddy has two 41's and two extra barrels. One is less than 5 years old. The other is one of the older models with the cocked indicator. They are beautiful. Have great triggers and are accurate. However neither runs like "buttah". Malfunctions are very frequent. I have watched him try many different ammos, lubes, springs, and mags. Nothing has made his pair as reliable as a Browning or Ruger.

Interesting, my 41 runs great on Fed Auto Match. Superb gun.

My choice for the cost conscious would still be the Trailside though.

Frustrating to me.....I would own a 41 if I had seen first hand so many problems with my buddy's pair.
Makes me wonder about their common denominator. I've dealt with dozens of them and never once known them to have foibles in any way. Of course, for the most part, they were fed and cared for as befits a pistol of their grade. It's not really a Ruger that you stuff anything through and clean with brake-cleaner.

Todd.

made the jump. Laid away Ruger Mark III 22/45 lite.

expect to add Hogue finger ridge grips and BSA red dot site.

Hope it shoots as good as the one in the store felt.

I am excited......LOL.
