I have four Ruger MK II's. Two identical blued 5.5 inch bull barreled, one Standard 50th Anniversary model, and a MK II era 22/45 with 4 inch bull barrel. ALL are great shooters, well I've kept the Anniversary model unfired, NIB, but I suspect it would also be flawless.

I like the 5.5 inch bulled barrel versions the best. Not too big for woods carry, but plenty accurate with adjustable sights. One has some VQ internals that help the trigger a bit.

Sorry no pics yet. :(

The one I bought: heavy barrel 22/45 with the wood grips. It is the perfect 22 pistol now that I removed the mag disconnect and used the spring from that to fix the last shot hold open.

Great little gun, I've started working to extend the range of my pistol shooting and shooting this at 50 yd is a blast.

Mine is a stainless MkIII 5.5in bull----bought a MkII hammer bushing and removed the mag disconnect----modded the chamber indicator so its now just a filler piece.

So its now basically a MkII with a hole(filled) in the side and a button mag release(which I happen to prefer)

Great pistol after the mods.

My one and only!

My MK III with all its hardware, holds zero when interchanged, sights work when scopes are removed with rail in place.

Started out with a 6" Standard in 1959; foolishly sold it. Picked up one of those cool 514s about 1992 but it's mostly a safe queen. The one I use most is a rehabbed and ugly 4 3/4 old Standard. With a trigger job and a good zero it's probably the best shooting .22 I own.

Everybody in the family has one or another version (volquartsen trigger jobs on all) and likes them.

Guess I need to make sure the new grandson has one set aside for when he grows into it. It's not impossible that he could be shooting it in 2049--the 100th anniversary of the little guns...
