Im looking for anywhere that sells new versions of the 1903 A3. I don't really want to go the route of buying used and then refurbishing. Does anybody know if there are companies that sell new versions of these rifles? Thanks.

There are no "new" versions of the '03A3, since they aren't made any more. Since you said you don't want to buy used and/or clean that rules out getting one from the CMP, which pretty much leaves you S.O.L.

I just got a 03A3 from the CMP and I was wonderfully suprised at the condition the rifle is in. It had been thru an arsenal refurbishing and completely re-parked. The barrel appears new with a bore that shines like a mirror. The bolt is a very nice smooth fit and shows very little wear. The rear sight is nice and tight and the front sight has sharp edges and is the middle ("C) size.

The stock has Rock Island Armory arsenal refinishing marks and I would say it is in about 85% new condition. For the $420.95 I paid, I believe I got a great deal.

Boyd's has brand new military stocks for the A3 and you can probably get sporterized versions from other makes like Richard's Microfit. Fulton Aromory is supposed to have brand-new 03A3 barrels available still in the original USGI wrappings.

If somebody was making new reproductions of the 03A3, you would probably pay anywhere from $1000 to $1200 for one. Springfield has an M1 repop (which uses refurbished USGI parts) that sells for over $1340. So for the price of a CMP 03 or 03A3 and a bit of elbow grease, you can have an excellent "real" rifle.

I don't know exactly what you mean by "new version", but as far as I know, nobody makes reproductions. Even if they did, why buy a repro when for 400 bucks plus shipping you can get the Real McCoy from CMP? I bought one of their 03A3s this summer, and it was a beauty.
